San Juan National Historic Site in the Old San Juan area of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a National Park Service-oversaw historic site which secures and deciphers pioneer time posts, for example, Castillo San Felipe del Morro, bastions, powder houses, and three fourths of the old city divider.
By a February 14, 1949 pronouncement the site was built up, and noticed the need to ensure the fortresses as landmarks just as save their historical and structural worth. Recorded on the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966.
On December 6, 1983, the recreation center and La Fortaleza were as one assigned a World Heritage Site under the name "La Fortaleza and San Juan National Historic Site in Puerto Rico" "in view of its remarkable, general social value."Only 12 national park zones in the United States are viewed as World Heritage Sites.
